While in many respects, Irving acts as a Dallas suburb, the city has a strong economy in its own right. Irving houses several major operations and headquarters including that of the world's largest corporation, ExxonMobil. Additionally, because of its proximity to the Dallas-Fort Wroth Airport, Irving is a major logistics center. As with most Texas cities, Irving has few business licenses and permits. Texas regulations are more plentiful, however the very business friendly state makes its licensing and permitting easy and accessible.
