Employment Agencies and Staffing Firms provide temporary workers to businesses. These days, specialty and full service staffing firms serve a wide array of industries – often providing highly skilled labor. Of course, blue collar labor and administrative workers are also commonly available through employment agencies. In order to employ workers and contract them out to clients, staffing agencies require state and sometimes local licenses.
Tallahassee is best known as the capitol of Florida. And while government makes up a significant portion of the local economy, Tallahassee remains an important agricultural center of the Florida Panhandle. The city also has a newly developing IT sector and fosters the presence of new, innovative companies. Tallahassee itself has relatively few business licenses and permits. Not surprisingly for a seat of state government, Tallahassee leaves much of the licensing and permitting to Florida. However with Florida's system that involves multiple layers of government, most businesses need business licenses from state, county and city governments -- and sometimes several from each.
