Food trucks are sweeping the nation. As trucks have changed from standard pre-prepared hamburgers, sandwiches and tacos to gourmet and specialty foods, people around the country have jumped on the food truck bandwagon. However, these popular, low-overhead businesses have no shortage of licensing and permitting required. Often numerous state, county and city licenses are needed including several environmental health permits.
Redlands is a growing town in San Bernardino County that now houses a large number of small businesses and housing developments. The city has minimal licensing over business. Mix that with San Bernardino County’s generally light regulation and it’s easy to see why Redlands and surrounding areas are becoming popular with regional entrepreneurs. Although much of the area around Redlands remains agricultural, the town also boasts a growing manufacturing sector. This includes companies such as Esri, Five Ten Footwear, La-Z-Boy, Salton, Hydro Tek Systems, and Gill Batteries.
