Home to five star resorts, beautiful beaches, lagoons and Lego Land, tiny Carlsbad, California in northern San Diego County has a visibility far out of proportion with its size. Carlsbad keeps licensing and business regulation to a minimum, often deferring to San Diego County and the state to monitor businesses. However, Carlsbad’s license pricing and taxation schedule is complex and based on business type. Carlsbad's face to the world involves its beautiful coastline, lagoon and high-end resorts. However, lying quietly within the town is a growing manufacturing sector that includes Life Technologies, Taylor Made-Adidas, Calloway, Asymtek, Zimmer Dental, Genoptix, Crestone Group Baking Co, Alphatec Spine, Titleist and Emerson Network Power.
